Article L3142-14 of the French Labour Code

In order to implement an employee’s entitlement to the leave referred to in Article L. 3142-6, a company collective agreement or agreement or, failing that, a branch agreement or agreement shall determine:

1° The maximum duration of the leave ;

2° The number of times the leave may be renewed ;

3° The conditions under which the leave may be split up or converted into a period of part-time work;

4° The time limits for informing the employer by the employee about the taking of the leave, its foreseeable duration, its renewal and the length of the notice period in the event of the employee’s return before the planned end of the leave;

5° The measures enabling a link to be maintained between the company and the employee during the period of leave and the arrangements for supporting the employee on his return.

Pour mettre en œuvre le droit à congé du salarié mentionné à l’article L. 3142-6, une convention ou un accord collectif d’entreprise ou, à défaut, une convention ou un accord de branche détermine :

1° La durée maximale du congé ;

2° Le nombre de renouvellements possibles ;

3° Les conditions de fractionnement du congé ou de sa transformation en période d’activité à temps partiel ;

4° Les délais d’information de l’employeur par le salarié sur la prise du congé, sa durée prévisible, son renouvellement et la durée du préavis en cas de retour du salarié avant le terme prévu du congé ;

5° Les mesures permettant le maintien d’un lien entre l’entreprise et le salarié pendant la durée du congé et les modalités d’accompagnement du salarié à son retour.
