Article L331-9 of the French Sports Code

The organisation by any person other than the State and the bodies mentioned in article L. 321-1 of sporting events open to licence holders of federations is subject to the organiser taking out the insurance cover defined in the same article L. 321-1.

L’organisation par toute personne autre que l’Etat et les organismes mentionnés à l’article L. 321-1 de manifestations sportives ouvertes aux licenciés des fédérations est subordonnée à la souscription par l’organisateur des garanties d’assurance définies au même article L. 321-1.
