Article L411-12 of the French Tourism Code

Holiday vouchers are valid until 31 December of the second calendar year following the year of issue.

Vouchers not used during this period may be exchanged within three months of the end of the period of use for holiday vouchers of the same value.

Holiday vouchers which have not been presented for reimbursement by service providers before the end of the third month following the expiry of their period of validity will lapse.

The equivalent value will be allocated to disadvantaged social categories, in particular in the form of holiday grants.

The beneficiary may, at his reasoned request presented before the issue of the vouchers, obtain reimbursement of his contribution to the purchase of the vouchers from the organisation which proposes to allocate them to him.

Article L411-12

La date limite de validité des chèques-vacances est fixée au 31 décembre de la deuxième année civile suivant l’année d’émission.

Les titres non utilisés au cours de cette période pourront être échangés dans les trois mois suivant le terme de la période d’utilisation contre des chèques-vacances d’un même montant.

Les chèques-vacances qui n’auront pas été présentés au remboursement par les prestataires de services avant la fin du troisième mois suivant l’expiration de leur période de validité seront périmés.

Leur contre-valeur sera affectée au bénéfice de catégories sociales défavorisées notamment sous la forme de bourses de vacances.

Le bénéficiaire peut, sur sa demande motivée présentée avant l’émission des titres, obtenir le remboursement de sa contribution à l’achat de ces derniers auprès de l’organisme qui se propose de les lui attribuer.
