The Conseil national de l’ordre des pharmaciens is composed of twenty-six members:
1° Two professors or senior lecturers from pharmacy training and research units who are active pharmacists, appointed by the Minister for Health, on the recommendation of the Minister for Higher Education;
2° A representative of the Director General of Healthcare;
3° A representative of the Director General of Health;
4° A representative of the central director of the armed forces health service;
5° Three elected pairs of dispensing pharmacists, listed in section A;
6° One elected pair of pharmacists listed in section B;
7° One elected pair of pharmacists listed in section C;
8° Two elected pairs of pharmacists registered on the register of section D ;
9° One elected pair of pharmacists registered on the roll of one of the sections of the Order and representing the pharmacists in section E, one of whose members is a medical biologist;
10° One elected pair of pharmacists on the roll of section G;
11° One elected pair of pharmacists registered on the register of section H ;
12° A pharmacist who is a member of the French National Academy of Pharmacy, appointed by the Academy.
The representatives of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Defence provided for in 2°, 3° and 4° attend all deliberations in an advisory capacity, with the exception of disciplinary meetings.
The election of the members of the National Council of the Order sitting in respect of the sections is carried out by the members of the corresponding central councils.
The term of office of elected or appointed members of the National Council is six years. Half of the National Council may be re-elected every three years.
Pharmacists who are members of the Conseil national de l’ordre may not be members of other councils of the ordre.
