Article L424-8 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The residence permit bearing the wording “long-term resident-EU” issued pursuant to article L. 424-5 may be withdrawn from a foreign national who loses refugee status pursuant to F of article 1 of the Geneva Convention of 28 July 1951 relating to the status of refugees, as well as in the event of fraudulent acquisition of this status.

La carte de résident portant la mention ” résident de longue durée-UE ” délivrée en application de l’article L. 424-5 peut être retirée à l’étranger lorsqu’il perd la qualité de réfugié en application du F de l’article 1er de la convention de Genève du 28 juillet 1951 relative au statut des réfugiés, ainsi qu’en cas d’obtention frauduleuse de cette qualité.
