The Corsican territorial collectivity is competent, under the conditions laid down in the civil aviation code, to create, develop, maintain and manage aerodromes and, where applicable, to extend their perimeter.
The assets of the Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari aerodromes, belonging to the State, are transferred to the assets of the Corsican territorial collectivity, with the exception of the rights of way and installations reserved for the State for the needs of national defence and the installations reserved for the State for the needs of air traffic safety and civil security. The local authority provides the State free of charge with the facilities and installations required for the operation of the police and security services. An agreement between the territorial authority and the State organises, under the conditions provided for in article L. 221-1 of the Civil Aviation Code, the procedures for implementing these transfers, and in particular provides for the measures necessary for the operation of the services responsible for policing and security.
