The territorial collectivity of Corsica determines and implements, within the framework of the sustainable planning and development plan, the guidelines for the development of tourism on the island.
It defines, implements and evaluates Corsica’s tourism policy and the promotional actions it intends to carry out. It collects, processes and disseminates data relating to tourism activity in Corsica.
It coordinates public and private initiatives in the fields of tourism development, promotion and information in Corsica.
By derogation from articles L. 131-3, L. 131-4 and L. 131-6 to L. 131-10 of the Tourism Code, a specialised institution is responsible, within the framework of the guidelines defined by the Corsican Regional Authority, for coordinating all tourism development initiatives in Corsica. In particular, this institution promotes tourism on the island and implements the policy of aid for the modernisation and development of reception and accommodation facilities.
This specialised institution, over which the Corsican regional authority has supervisory powers, is chaired by an executive councillor appointed by the president of the executive council. A majority of its board of directors are elected representatives of the Corsican Assembly.
The specialised institution ceases to exist when the Corsican regional authority takes over the exercise of its missions.
