Article L512-47 of the French Consumer Code

Where a product is rapidly alterable or where it is an object or a commodity which, because of its value, its nature or the too small quantity of the product, cannot, without inconvenience, be the subject of a sampling in several samples and the expert examination cannot be carried out on the sample submitted for testing or analysis, the public prosecutor or the court shall immediately appoint the experts, including the one indicated by the interested party, and shall take all measures to ensure that the experts meet urgently.
The examination begins at the promptest expert’s convenience and the experts conclude on the findings thus made.

Lorsqu’un produit est rapidement altérable ou lorsqu’il s’agit d’un objet ou d’une marchandise qui, en raison de sa valeur, de sa nature ou de la trop faible quantité du produit, ne peut, sans inconvénient, faire l’objet d’un prélèvement en plusieurs échantillons et que l’expertise ne peut être réalisée sur l’échantillon soumis à essais ou analyses, le procureur de la République ou la juridiction commet immédiatement les experts, dont celui qui est indiqué par l’intéressé, et prend toutes mesures pour que les experts se réunissent d’urgence.
L’examen commence à la diligence de l’expert le plus prompt et les experts concluent sur les constatations ainsi faites.
