Article L5125-9 of the French Public Health Code

Any pharmacist or company intending to operate a pharmacy must make a declaration to the local Association of Pharmacists.

In the event of cessation of operation, transfer or regrouping of a pharmacy, or any change affecting the ownership of the pharmacy, the pharmacist or company must inform the local pharmacists’ association.

The local pharmacists’ association will forward information concerning the opening, changes and closure of pharmacies to the regional health agency.

Detailed rules for the application of this article shall be laid down by decree.

Tout pharmacien ou toute société se proposant d’exploiter une officine doit en faire la déclaration auprès du conseil de l’ordre des pharmaciens territorialement compétent.

En cas de cessation d’exploitation, de transfert ou de regroupement d’officine, ou de tout changement affectant la propriété de l’officine, le pharmacien ou la société en informe le conseil de l’ordre des pharmaciens territorialement compétent.

Le conseil de l’ordre des pharmaciens territorialement compétent transmet les informations concernant les débuts, les changements et les cessations d’exploitation des officines à l’agence régionale de santé.

Les modalités d’application du présent article sont fixées par décret.
