Article L521-3 of the French Insurance Code

When distributing an insurance contract, and prior to the conclusion of the contract, the insurance undertaking shall provide the prospective policyholder or member with information relating to its identity, address, status as an insurance undertaking, complaints procedures and recourse to a mediation process. It also informs the prospective policyholder or member of the nature of the remuneration received by its staff for distributing the contract.

The policyholder or subscriber is informed of any changes made after the conclusion of the insurance contract which affect the information referred to in the previous paragraph, if he makes payments under the insurance contract after its conclusion other than the current premiums and scheduled payments.

Lorsqu’elle distribue un contrat d’assurance, et avant la conclusion de ce contrat, l’entreprise d’assurance fournit au souscripteur éventuel ou l’adhérent éventuel des informations relatives à son identité, à son adresse, à sa qualité d’entreprise d’assurance, aux procédures de réclamation et au recours à un processus de médiation. Elle informe également le souscripteur éventuel ou l’adhérent éventuel de la nature de la rémunération perçue par son personnel au titre de la distribution du contrat.


Le souscripteur ou l’adhérent est tenu informé des changements intervenus après la conclusion du contrat d’assurance et qui affectent l’information mentionnée à l’alinéa précédent, s’il effectue, au titre du contrat d’assurance après sa conclusion, des paiements autres que les primes en cours et les versements prévus.
