Article L522-19 of the French Commercial code

Tariffs are communicated to the prefect at least one month before the opening of the general shop.

Any changes to existing tariffs must be notified to him and only become enforceable one month after such notification. However, this time limit does not apply to operators whose tariffs are subject to administrative authorisation.

Toute modification des tarifs existants doit lui être notifiée et ne devient exécutoire qu’un mois après cette notification. Toutefois, ce délai n’est pas applicable aux exploitants dont les tarifs sont soumis à une autorisation administrative.
