Article L522-2 of the French Consumer Code

The administration’s action for the sanction of a breach punishable by an administrative fine exceeding €3,000 for a natural person or €15,000 for a legal person shall lapse after three years have elapsed from the day on which the breach was committed if, within that period, no action has been taken with a view to investigating, ascertaining or sanctioning the breach.

L’action de l’administration pour la sanction d’un manquement passible d’une amende administrative excédant 3 000 euros pour une personne physique ou 15 000 euros pour une personne morale se prescrit par trois années révolues à compter du jour où le manquement a été commis si, dans ce délai, il n’a été fait aucun acte tendant à la recherche, à la constatation ou à la sanction de ce manquement.
