The Agence nationale d’appui à la performance des établissements de santé et médico-sociaux is a public interest group formed by the French government, the Union nationale des caisses d’assurance maladie, the Caisse nationale de solidarité pour l’autonomie and federations representing health and medico-social establishments.
The purpose of the agency is to help health and medico-social establishments to improve the service they provide to patients and users, by drawing up and distributing recommendations and tools, the implementation of which it monitors, to enable them to modernise their management, optimise their property assets and monitor and improve their performance, in order to control their expenditure. To this end, as part of its work programme, it may carry out or commission audits of the management and organisation of all the activities of health and medico-social establishments.
