The regional hospital centres defined in article L. 6141-2 may include a unit responsible for providing specialist advice and opinions on the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and, where appropriate, prevention of human poisoning, known as an anti-poison centre.
Poison control centres participate in emergency medical assistance as defined in article L. 6311-1.
They provide support for surveillance systems.
The national list of regional hospital centres with a poison control centre is set by order of the Minister for Health.
Their tasks and related resources are set by decree.
