Article L7124-15 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The Grand Customary Council may be consulted by the Assembly of French Guyana or its president, by the Economic, Social, Environmental, Cultural and Education Council, as well as by the State representative in the territorial collectivity, on any issue concerning the environment, the living environment or the cultural activities of the Amerindian and Bushinenge populations.

Le grand conseil coutumier peut être saisi par l’assemblée de Guyane ou son président, par le conseil économique, social, environnemental, de la culture et de l’éducation, ainsi que par le représentant de l’Etat dans la collectivité territoriale, de toute question intéressant l’environnement, le cadre de vie ou les activités culturelles des populations amérindiennes et bushinenge.
