Article L721-7 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who has been granted a period of voluntary departure may, upon notification of the decision imposing an obligation to leave French territory, be required to report to the administrative authority or to the police services or gendarmerie units in order to indicate his diligence in preparing his departure. This decision is taken for a period that may not continue beyond the expiry of the period for voluntary departure.

Article L721-7

L’étranger auquel un délai de départ volontaire a été accordé peut, dès la notification de la décision portant obligation de quitter le territoire français, être astreint à se présenter à l’autorité administrative ou aux services de police ou aux unités de gendarmerie pour y indiquer ses diligences dans la préparation de son départ. Cette décision est prise pour une durée qui ne peut se poursuivre au-delà de l’expiration du délai de départ volontaire.
