Where, in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure on forgery and in the cases provided for in particular in articles 642 and 645, documents alleged to be forged or comparison documents must be handed over to the court registry by public or private depositories, the public prosecutor or investigating judge may order either that the depository shall go in person or by proxy to the court registry or before it to make this deposit, or that the depository shall hand them over to such magistrate or judicial police officer as he may designate, who shall issue him with a duplicate of the report recording this handover.
When the depositary or his agent has travelled to make this deposit, he is entitled to the appearance fee and the travel and subsistence allowances allocated to witnesses.
