Article R162-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The act of accepting, holding or using any unauthorised monetary sign intended to replace coins or banknotes that are legal tender in France is punishable in accordance with article R. 642-2 of the French Penal Code.

Le fait d’accepter, de détenir ou d’utiliser tout signe monétaire non autorisé ayant pour objet de remplacer les pièces de monnaie ou les billets de banque ayant cours légal en France est réprimé conformément à l’article R. 642-2 du code pénal.
