Article R172-3 of the French Insurance Code

The insurance policy is dated the day it is issued.

It indicates :

– the place of subscription ;

– the names and domiciles of the contracting parties, with an indication, where applicable, that the party taking out the insurance is acting on behalf of a third party;

– the object or interest insured

– the risks insured or excluded;

– the time and place of these risks

– the sum insured

– the premium;

– the promissory note or bearer clause, if agreed.

La police d’assurance est datée du jour où elle est établie.

Elle indique :

– le lieu de souscription ;

– le nom et le domicile des parties contractantes, avec l’indication, le cas échéant, que celui qui fait assurer agit pour le compte d’autrui ;

– la chose ou l’intérêt assuré ;

– les risques assurés ou les risques exclus ;

– le temps et le lieu de ces risques ;

– la somme assurée ;

– la prime ;

– la clause à ordre ou au porteur, si elle a été convenue.
