Article R*211-25 of the French Insurance Code

In the case of vehicles belonging to a foreign State, the evidence provided for in article R. 211-23 may be replaced by the production of a certificate stating that the vehicle belongs to that State and designating the authority or body responsible for repairing the damage on behalf of that State.

The certificate must state that the State to which the vehicle belongs guarantees the settlement, waives its immunity from jurisdiction and accepts the application of national law and the jurisdiction of the French courts.

A decree shall lay down the detailed rules for the application of this article.

En ce qui concerne les véhicules appartenant à un Etat étranger, les justifications prévues à l’article R. 211-23 peuvent être remplacées par la production d’une attestation constatant que le véhicule appartient à cet Etat et désignant l’autorité ou l’organisme chargé de réparer les dommages pour le compte dudit Etat.

L’attestation doit mentionner que l’Etat auquel appartient le véhicule se porte garant du règlement, renonce à son immunité de juridiction et accepte l’application de la loi nationale ainsi que la compétence des tribunaux français.

Un décret fixe les modalités d’application du présent article.
