The indication to use the biological diagnosis mentioned in article R. 2131-22-1 is the subject of a certificate drawn up after consultation within a multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis centre involving the multidisciplinary clinical-biological medical procreation assistance team mentioned in article L. 2141-2 and the practitioner approved for the activities mentioned in article R. 2131-22-2 . This certificate is signed by the doctor holding the specialist diploma in medical genetics or an equivalent diploma, mentioned in d of 1° of article R. 2131-12. It is given to the couple or to the unmarried woman and includes the name of this doctor and the multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis centre where he or she practises. The centre will keep a copy of the certificate under conditions that guarantee confidentiality. The couple or unmarried woman is informed that only the pathology linked to the parental genetic anomaly likely to be transmitted may be sought in the embryo during the examinations leading to this diagnosis.
If the embryo is not selected for diagnosis, the reasons for this will be explained to the applicant in writing, following an interview with the doctor referred to in the previous paragraph.
