Article R2315-19 of the French Labour Code

If, in order to refuse the request for leave, the employer considers that the employee’s absence could have prejudicial consequences for production and the smooth running of the company, the refusal shall be notified to the employee concerned within eight days of receipt of the request.

In this case, the training leave may be postponed for up to six months.

Lorsque pour refuser la demande de congé, l’employeur estime que l’absence du salarié pourrait avoir des conséquences préjudiciables à la production et à la bonne marche de l’entreprise, le refus est notifié à l’intéressé dans un délai de huit jours à compter de la réception de la demande.


Dans ce cas, le congé formation peut être reporté dans la limite de six mois.
