The testing operations referred to in Article L. 232-14-1 may only be carried out if the athlete has given his consent.
This consent may be sought and obtained by:
the director of the testing department of the French Anti-Doping Agency;
-a competent international sporting body;
-the organiser of an international sporting event.
It is valid for all the tests mentioned in article L. 232-14-1 carried out on French territory or by the French Anti-Doping Agency.
The request for consent is sent to the athlete by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or by letter delivered against a receipt or by any means which guarantees its origin and receipt. The athlete has one month from receipt of the request to give his consent. If no response is received within this period, the athlete is deemed to have refused consent.
When consent is requested by the organiser of an international sporting event, it may be requested by any means. The athlete’s consent is then attached to the application to enter the event.
The athlete’s consent must be expressed in writing.
For athletes who are minors, the consent of the legal representative is required.
