The samples and screening operations listed in article R. 232-50 are carried out under the direct supervision of the person in charge of testing or, except for protected persons within the meaning of article L. 230-7, the escort provided for in article R. 232-56. They are carried out under the following conditions:
° The container intended to receive each sample is adapted to the nature of the sample and to the nature of the analyses. It is designed to avoid any risk of contamination and pollution;
° The equipment required to take and collect urine, blood, saliva and dander samples is supplied either by the French Anti-Doping Agency or by the body mentioned in the first paragraph of II of article L. 232-5;
° When urine is collected, the person in charge of the test ensures that the density, the quantity taken and the distribution between the samples meet the needs of the analysis; the test is continued until these conditions are met;
° Blood and saliva samples are taken using sterile single-use equipment;
° With the exception of the blood sample, which is distributed by the person responsible for the test, each sample is distributed, either by the person concerned under the supervision of the person responsible for the test, or by the latter, in two sealed bottles bearing an identification label with a code number; each bottle contains a sufficient quantity to enable an initial analysis to be carried out and, if necessary, a second;
° The samples are distributed and packaged in secure, pre-coded, single-use transport devices, which enable A and B samples to be identified; blood samples may be packaged in serum, plasma or both, in addition to whole blood;
° Apparatus for analysing exhaled air must conform to types approved by the French Anti-Doping Agency;
° In the case of breath testing, a second test may be carried out immediately after checking that the equipment is working properly. A second test is automatic if requested by the tested person. When a test reveals that a person is under the influence of alcohol, the person in charge of the test informs the organisation of the training session, competition or sporting event without delay.
The conditions for taking and transporting samples are specified in a set of best practice guidelines drawn up by the Testing Department of the French Anti-Doping Agency.
