Article R2333-120-28 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The registry of hearings and the execution of procedural acts are carried out by the head of the registry as well as by the other registry agents designated for this purpose by the head of the court.

Under the functional authority of the chairman of the committee, the head of the registry supervises the court registry and ensures that it operates smoothly and that court proceedings run smoothly.

The head of the registry may, with the agreement of the chairman of the committee, delegate his signature, for part of his duties, to staff assigned to the registry.

The head of the registry is appointed by the Minister of the Interior after consultation with the vice-president of the Conseil d’Etat. His replacement may be proposed by the Vice-Chairman of the Conseil d’Etat.

Le greffe des audiences et l’exécution des actes de procédure sont assurés par le chef du greffe ainsi que par les autres agents du greffe désignés à cet effet par le chef de juridiction.

Sous l’autorité fonctionnelle du président de la commission, le chef du greffe encadre le greffe de la juridiction et veille à son bon fonctionnement ainsi qu’au bon déroulement de la procédure juridictionnelle.

Le chef du greffe peut, avec l’accord du président de la commission, déléguer sa signature, pour une partie de ses attributions, à des agents affectés au greffe.

L’intérim ou la suppléance du chef du greffe est assuré par un des agents affectés au greffe, désigné à cet effet par le président de la commission.

Le chef du greffe est nommé par le ministre de l’intérieur après avis du vice-président du Conseil d’Etat. Son remplacement peut être proposé par le vice-président du Conseil d’Etat.
