Article R342-13 of the French Tourism Code

In order to check their state of operation and maintenance, ski lifts and moving walkways are subject to checks by the operator and inspections by the persons mentioned in article R. 342-14. For each type of installation, an order from the Minister for Transport specifies the procedures for these checks and inspections, as well as the procedures for informing the inspection services mentioned in article R. 342-8 beforehand.

The operator must send the Prefect a report on the inspections and checks carried out and the corresponding certificates.

Article R342-13

Afin de vérifier leur état de fonctionnement et d’entretien, les remontées mécaniques et les tapis roulants font l’objet de contrôles réalisés par l’exploitant et de vérifications réalisées par les personnes mentionnées à l’article R. 342-14. Pour chaque type d’installation, un arrêté du ministre chargé des transports précise les modalités de ces contrôles et vérifications ainsi que les modalités suivant lesquelles les services de contrôle mentionnés à l’article R. 342-8 sont préalablement informés.

L’exploitant transmet au préfet le compte rendu des contrôles et vérifications effectués et les attestations correspondantes.
