The provisions of this section are implemented, as far as possible, prior to the release of a convicted prisoner.
However, when the person has been convicted of a crime referred to inarticle 706-53-13 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the person must be summoned by the coordinating doctor in accordance with the provisions of article R. 3711-12 of this Code before being released or before the end of the period of secure detention. The choice of attending physician, in accordance with the provisions of articles R. 3711-12 to R. 3711-16, is made before this release or before the end of the period of secure detention.
For the application of the provisions of the two previous paragraphs, the person may be granted leave or, where applicable, escorted leave in order to meet with the coordinating doctor and their attending doctor.
