Article R431-1 of the French Consumer Code

The court hearing an action brought pursuant to Article L. 431-6 may hear an action for a prohibition on the use on products other than those benefiting from the designation of origin, or on the packaging containing them and the labels, business papers and invoices referring to them, of any indication likely to cause confusion as to the origin of the products.
This action is open even if the geographical area of production has been definitively delimited in application of the provisions of article L. 431-6.

La juridiction saisie d’une action exercée en application de l’article L. 431-6 peut connaître d’une action tendant à interdire de faire figurer, sur les produits autres que ceux bénéficiant de l’appellation d’origine ou sur les emballages qui les contiennent et les étiquettes, papiers de commerce et factures qui s’y réfèrent, toute indication pouvant provoquer une confusion sur l’origine des produits.
Cette action est ouverte même si l’aire géographique de production a été définitivement délimitée en application des dispositions de l’article L. 431-6.
