Article R431-2 of the French Consumer Code

The action is brought before the judicial court of the place of origin of the product whose designation is contested.
The claim is exempted from the preliminary conciliation and investigated and judged according to the fixed day procedure.
Within a week of the writ of summons, the claimant shall cause to be published in a newspaper carrying legal notices in the district in which he is domiciled, as well as in a newspaper carrying legal notices in the district of the court seised, a brief notice stating his surname, forenames, profession and domicile, the surname, forenames and domicile of his representative, those of the defendant and of the defendant’s representative if he has been constituted, and the subject matter of the claim.

L’action est portée devant le tribunal judiciaire du lieu d’origine du produit dont l’appellation est contestée.
La demande est dispensée du préliminaire de conciliation et instruite et jugée selon la procédure à jour fixe.
Dans la huitaine de l’assignation, le demandeur fait insérer dans un journal d’annonces légales de l’arrondissement de son domicile, ainsi que dans un journal d’annonces légales de l’arrondissement du tribunal saisi, une note succincte indiquant ses nom, prénoms, profession et domicile, les nom, prénoms et domicile de son représentant, ceux du défendeur et du représentant de celui-ci s’il a été constitué, et l’objet de la demande.
Les débats ne peuvent commencer que quinze jours après la publication de la note prévue au troisième alinéa.
