Article R433-1 of the French Consumer Code

A certification body not yet accredited for the certification in question may carry out product or service certifications as soon as it has submitted an application for accreditation and the French Accreditation Committee has accepted the admissibility of this application. It may continue to carry out the certification activity in question for a maximum period of one year from notification of the admissibility of its application. If accreditation is not obtained within this period, it must cease this activity.

Un organisme certificateur non encore accrédité pour la certification considérée peut effectuer des certifications de produits ou de services dès lors qu’il a déposé une demande d’accréditation et que le Comité français d’accréditation a admis la recevabilité de cette demande. Il peut continuer à exercer l’activité de certification en cause pendant une durée d’un an au maximum à compter de la notification de la recevabilité de sa demande. A défaut d’accréditation obtenue dans ce délai, il doit cesser cette activité.
