Article R442-9-2 of the French Insurance Code

Political risk arises when the investor’s property rights or those attaching thereto, or the special rights and advantages granted to him by the authorities of the country in which the investment was made, are infringed as a result of one of the following causes: civil or foreign war, revolution, riots or other similar events occurring in the country in which the investment was made, or an act or decision of the authorities of that country.

Le risque politique est réalisé lorsqu’il est porté atteinte aux droits de propriété de l’investisseur ou à ceux qui y sont attachés, ou encore aux droits et avantages particuliers qui lui auraient été reconnus par les autorités du pays dans lequel l’investissement a été effectué, en raison de l’une des causes suivantes : guerre civile ou étrangère, révolution, émeutes ou autres faits analogues survenus dans le pays dans lequel l’investissement a été effectué, acte ou décision des autorités de ce pays.
