Article R4451-11 of the French Labour Code

I.-In a radiological emergency, the reference level is set at 100 millisieverts for the effective dose likely to be received by a worker in such a situation.

II – In exceptional situations, to save lives, prevent serious radiation-induced health effects or prevent the occurrence of catastrophic situations, the reference level for a radiological emergency is set at 500 millisieverts for an effective dose resulting from external exposure.

I.-En situation d’urgence radiologique, le niveau de référence est fixé à 100 millisieverts pour la dose efficace susceptible d’être reçue par un travailleur intervenant dans une telle situation.


II.-Dans des situations exceptionnelles, pour sauver des vies, empêcher de graves effets sanitaires radio-induits ou empêcher l’apparition de situations catastrophiques, le niveau de référence en situation d’urgence radiologique est fixé à 500 millisieverts, pour une dose efficace résultant d’une exposition externe.
