In the event of pregnancy, exposure of the unborn child during the period between the declaration of pregnancy and the moment of delivery is kept as low as reasonably achievable and, in any event, the equivalent dose received by the child remains below 1 millisievert.

The exposure of young people aged at least sixteen and under eighteen to ionising radiation does not exceed: 1° For the whole body, 6 millisieverts over 12 consecutive months, assessed on the basis of the effective dose: 2° For organs or tissues, assessed on the basis of the following corresponding equivalent doses: a) 150 millisieverts over 12 consecutive months, for the extremities and the skin. In the event of a radiological emergency, the total effective dose over the lifetime of an emergency worker will never exceed 1 sievert.
