Article R49-6 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The accounting officer of the Directorate General of Public Finances sends the offender an extract from the enforcement order concerning him/her in the form of a notice inviting him/her to pay the amount of the increased fixed fine. This notice contains, for each fine, the information provided for in the second paragraph of article R. 49-5 and indicates the time limit and procedures for the claim provided for in the second and third paragraphs of l’article 530.

It states that in the event of voluntary payment of the increased fixed fine within one month of the date it was sent, the amount of the sums owed will be reduced by 20%.

Le comptable de la direction générale des finances publiques adresse au contrevenant un extrait du titre exécutoire le concernant sous forme d’avis l’invitant à s’acquitter du montant de l’amende forfaitaire majorée. Cet avis contient, pour chaque amende, les mentions prévues par le deuxième alinéa de l’article R. 49-5 et indique le délai et les modalités de la réclamation prévue par les deuxième et troisième alinéas de l’article 530.

Il indique qu’en cas de paiement volontaire de l’amende forfaitaire majorée dans le délai d’un mois à compter de sa date d’envoi, le montant des sommes dues sera diminué de 20 %.
