Article R5125-51 of the French Public Health Code

Home dispensing may be carried out by the pharmacist holding or managing the pharmacy after death, or by the pharmacist managing the mutual benefit pharmacy or a mining relief society, or by their assistants or their replacements.

It may also be carried out by the pharmacy assistants or students mentioned in article L. 4241-10.

In the case mentioned in the previous paragraph, the pharmacist in charge or the pharmacist manager, or, where applicable, his deputy or an assistant of the pharmacy or of the mutual benefit pharmacy or of a société de secours minière, personally ensures that the instructions necessary for proper compliance with and understanding of the prescription by the patient are given in advance to the person dispensing the medicinal product.

La dispensation à domicile peut être effectuée par le pharmacien titulaire ou gérant de l’officine après décès, ou par le pharmacien gérant de la pharmacie mutualiste ou d’une société de secours minière, ou par leurs adjoints ou leur remplaçant.

Elle peut également être effectuée par les préparateurs en pharmacie ou les étudiants mentionnés à l’article L. 4241-10.

Dans le cas mentionné à l’alinéa précédent, le pharmacien titulaire ou le pharmacien gérant, ou, le cas échéant, son remplaçant ou un adjoint de l’officine ou de la pharmacie mutualiste ou d’une société de secours minière, veille personnellement à ce que les instructions nécessaires à une bonne observance et compréhension de la prescription par le patient soient données préalablement à la personne qui assure la dispensation.
