Article R531-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

From the date on which the certificate of application for asylum is issued in accordance with the procedure laid down in article R. 521-8, the foreign national has a period of twenty-one days in which to lodge a complete application for asylum with the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons.

A compter de la remise de l’attestation de demande d’asile selon la procédure prévue à l’article R. 521-8, l’étranger dispose d’un délai de vingt et un jours pour introduire sa demande d’asile complète auprès de l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides.
