Article R5423-4 of the French Labour Code

Alimony or maintenance payments fixed by a divorce or legal separation agreement by mutual consent as provided for in article 229-1 of the Civil Code, a deed certified by a notary, a divorce agreement approved by a judge or by a court decision that has become enforceable are deducted from the resources of the person paying them.

La pension alimentaire ou la prestation compensatoire fixée par une convention de divorce ou de séparation de corps par consentement mutuel prévue à l’article 229-1 du code civil, un acte reçu en la forme authentique par un notaire, une convention de divorce homologuée par le juge ou par une décision de justice devenue exécutoire est déduite des ressources de celui qui la verse.
