The French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons may summon the applicant to a personal interview under the conditions laid down in article R. 531-17.
The applicant will be heard in the language of his/her choice or, failing that, in another language that he/she understands and in which he/she is able to communicate clearly.
When the applicant’s interview requires the assistance of an interpreter, his/her fees will be paid by the Office.
The Office may conduct an interview using an audiovisual means of communication, under the conditions laid down in article R. 531-16.
The Office may authorise the applicant to attend accompanied either by a lawyer or a representative of an association, under the conditions laid down in article L. 531-15.
