Article R6123-17 of the French Public Health Code

The terms of cooperation between the SAMU and the SMUR as well as the sectors and terms of intervention of the latter are specified in an agreement or in the network agreement mentioned in article R. 6123-29.

This agreement specifies :

1° The conditions under which the members of the mobile emergency and intensive care unit (SMUR) teams may participate in the operation of the emergency medical assistance service (SAMU), and in particular in medical regulation and the operation of the emergency structure ;

2° The terms and conditions according to which, during the back-up interventions mentioned in 2° of article R. 6123-15-1, a mobile emergency and intensive care unit (SMUR) is coordinated by the local emergency medical service (SAMU).

Article R6123-17

Les modalités de coopération entre les SAMU et les SMUR ainsi que les secteurs et les modalités d’intervention de ces derniers sont précisées dans une convention ou dans la convention du réseau mentionnée à l’article R. 6123-29.

Cette convention précise :

1° Les conditions dans lesquelles les membres des équipes des structures mobiles d’urgence et de réanimation (SMUR) peuvent participer au fonctionnement du service d’aide médicale urgente (SAMU), et notamment à la régulation médicale et au fonctionnement de la structure des urgences ;

2° Les modalités selon lesquelles, lors d’interventions en renfort mentionnées au 2° de l’article R. 6123-15-1, une structure mobile d’urgence et de réanimation (SMUR) est coordonnée par le service d’aide médicale urgente (SAMU) de zone.
