I. – Exceptionally and on a temporary basis, in the absence of available paediatric critical care beds, patients under the age of 18 may be treated in adult critical care on site or by agreement with a holder of the authorisation for adult critical care activity, enabling treatment to be provided within a timeframe compatible with the imperatives of care safety.
II. – As part of a paediatric care pathway, children over 15 years of age may be treated in adult critical care on site or by agreement between the holders of the paediatric and adult critical care authorisation, allowing treatment to be provided within a timeframe compatible with the imperatives of safe care.
