I. – The holder of the authorisation provides round-the-clock care, every day of the year, for the reception, diagnostic and therapeutic management, monitoring and transfer of patients as soon as their state of health permits.
II. – The holder of the 1° adult critical care authorisation ensures the safety and continuity of critical care by organising the return or transfer of patients to intensive care units as soon as their state of health permits, either on site or by means of an agreement specifying the terms and conditions of transfers with the holders of the 2° to 5° authorisations.
III. – The holder of the 1° and 2° paediatric critical care authorisation ensures the safety and continuity of paediatric critical care by organising the return or transfer of patients to paediatric intensive care units as soon as their state of health allows, either on site or by means of an agreement specifying the terms and conditions of transfers with the holders of the 3° to 4° authorisation.
IV. – Holders of the authorisation for categories 2° to 5° under the adult critical care modality organise the transfer to intensive care of patients presenting acute failures, and continue their care on a transitional basis while awaiting this transfer.
V.-Holders of the 3° or 4° authorisation under the paediatric critical care modality organise the transfer to paediatric intensive care of patients presenting acute failures, and continue their care on a transitional basis pending this transfer.
