For the post-operative care of the patients they treat, holders of the authorisation for thoracic oncology surgery with A2 mention mentioned in I of Article R. 6123-87-1, holders of the authorisation for complex oncology surgery with B mention mentioned in II of Article R. 6123-87-1 and the holder of the authorisation for surgery on children and adolescents under the age of eighteen with designation C referred to in III of this same article also have the following facilities on site:
1° A continuous monitoring unit;
2° Continuity of care arrangements for these patients guaranteeing the permanent presence, on site or by means of operational on-call duty, of a doctor specialising in anaesthesia-intensive care or intensive care medicine.
The holder of the B1 complex digestive oncology surgery authorisation, when providing care to patients with cancer of the oesophagus or gastro-oesophageal junction, also guarantees access on the site or in neighbouring buildings to an intensive care unit mentioned in 1° or 2° of article R. 6123-34-1, or to an intensive care unit.
The holder of the B2 complex thoracic oncology surgery authorisation also guarantees access on site or in neighbouring buildings to an intensive care unit.
Where the intensive care unit or the resuscitation unit located in the neighbouring building is owned by another legal entity, an agreement is mandatory.
