I.-The composition of the medical committee of university hospital centres is set as follows:
1° All the heads of the clinical and medico-technical divisions when the establishment has fewer than eleven divisions; when the number of heads of divisions is greater than or equal to eleven, the establishment’s internal regulations determine the number of representatives elected by and from among the heads of divisions, which may not be less than ten;
2° Elected representatives of the heads of internal structures, departments or functional units;
3° Elected representatives of the establishment’s permanent teaching and hospital staff;
4° Elected representatives of the establishment’s permanent hospital practitioners;
5° Elected representatives of the establishment’s temporary or non-tenured staff and contract or self-employed staff;
6° Elected representatives of midwives, if the establishment has a gynaecology-obstetrics activity;
7° Representatives of interns, including one representative for general medical interns, one for medical interns in other specialities, one for pharmacy interns and one for odontology interns;
8° Representatives of hospital students, comprising one representative for medical hospital students, one representative for pharmacy hospital students, one representative for odontology hospital students and one representative for students in the second cycle of maieutics studies.
The number of representatives mentioned in 3° and 4° is equal. However, when teaching and university staff represent less than 10% of the establishment’s permanent practitioners, the internal regulations may provide for an exception to this rule.
II – The following also attend in an advisory capacity:
1° The Chairman of the Executive Board or his representative ;
2° The directors of the medical training and research units or the chairman of the medical education coordination committee and, where they exist, the director of the pharmacy training and research unit and the director of the odontology training and research unit;
3° The chairman of the nursing, re-education and medico-technical care commission;
4° The practitioner responsible for medical information;
5° The representative of the establishment’s technical committee, elected from among its members;
6° The practitioner in charge of the operational hygiene team;
7° A representative of hospital pharmacists appointed by the director of the establishment.
8° The healthcare risk management coordinator mentioned in article R. 6111-4.
The Chairman of the Management Board may be assisted by any person of his choice.
In consultation with the Director of the institution, the Institutional Medical Commission may appoint up to five guests representing external partners who cooperate with the institution in the implementation of public health initiatives. These guests may be permanent members. They may attend Medical Committee meetings in an advisory capacity.
