Article R623-19 of the French Consumer Code

Consumers likely to belong to the group, but who have not joined within the time limit set by the judge pursuant to article L. 623-8 and under the conditions set out in article R. 623-17, are no longer eligible to claim compensation under the group action and are not represented by the claimant association.

Les consommateurs susceptibles d’appartenir au groupe, mais qui n’y ont pas adhéré dans le délai fixé par le juge en application de l’article L. 623-8 et dans les conditions prévues par l’article R. 623-17, ne sont plus recevables à demander leur indemnisation dans le cadre de l’action de groupe et ne sont pas représentés par l’association requérante.
