Article R6341-47 of the French Labour Code

If the trainee abandons the placement without legitimate reason or is dismissed for gross misconduct, the remuneration received by the trainee and the remuneration that has been reimbursed to the employer as well as, where applicable, the sums paid in respect of social security contributions relating to this remuneration are repaid in full to the State or, as the case may be, to the region.

Lorsque le stagiaire abandonne sans motif légitime le stage ou fait l’objet d’un renvoi pour faute lourde, les rémunérations perçues par les stagiaires et les rémunérations qui ont été remboursées aux employeurs ainsi que, le cas échéant, les sommes versées au titre des cotisations de sécurité sociale afférentes à ces rémunérations sont reversées en totalité à l’Etat ou, selon le cas, à la région.
