Article R721-8 of the French Intellectual Property Code

A logo dedicated to geographical indications, provided for in Article L. 721-2, is defined by joint order of the minister responsible for industrial property and the minister responsible for craft trades. When an operator who is a member of the defence and management body wishes to indicate that the product complies with the approved specifications of a geographical indication, the logo, together with the name of the geographical indication and the approval number, may be affixed to the product, its packaging or its labelling.

Un logo dédié aux indications géographiques, prévues à l’article L. 721-2, est défini par arrêté conjoint du ministre chargé de la propriété industrielle et du ministre chargé de l’artisanat. Lorsqu’un opérateur, membre de l’organisme de défense et de gestion, souhaite indiquer que le produit respecte le cahier des charges homologué d’une indication géographique, le logo, accompagné du nom de l’indication géographique et du numéro d’homologation, peut être apposé sur le produit, sur son emballage ou sur son étiquetage.
