Article R754-19 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Any person working in a place of detention may report to the head of the detention centre or his/her representative, or to the person in charge of the detention facility, any situation of vulnerability of an asylum seeker that he/she has observed, or that the asylum seeker has reported.
The head of the detention centre or his representative, or the person in charge of the detention facility, shall determine, where appropriate, the special conditions for continued detention taking into account the vulnerable situation of the applicant.
Information attesting to a particular situation of vulnerability shall be transmitted orally or in writing, with the agreement of the asylum seeker, to the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons.

Toute personne intervenant dans un lieu de rétention peut signaler au chef du centre de rétention ou à son représentant, ou au responsable du local de rétention, la situation de vulnérabilité d’un demandeur d’asile qu’elle aurait constatée, ou dont le demandeur d’asile aurait fait état.
Le chef du centre ou son représentant, ou le responsable du local de rétention, détermine, le cas échéant, les modalités particulières de maintien en rétention tenant compte de la situation de vulnérabilité du demandeur.
Les informations attestant d’une situation particulière de vulnérabilité sont transmises oralement ou par écrit, après accord du demandeur d’asile, à l’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides.
