Section 4: Rights of asylum seekers

The delegate of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and his representatives shall have access to detention facilities under the conditions laid down in Articles R. 744-22 to R. 744-26.

Any person working in a place of detention may report to the head of the detention centre or his/her representative, or to the person in charge of the detention facility, any situation of vulnerability of an asylum seeker that he/she has observed, or that the asylum seeker has reported.The head of the detention centre or his representative, or the person in charge of the detention facility, shall determine, where appropriate,…

The lawyer or representative of one of the associations mentioned in article L. 531-15, appointed by the asylum seeker, is authorised to enter the place of detention to attend his/her interview under the conditions provided for in the same article.
