The judge may, in any matter, summon the parties or one of them to appear personally.

The judge may, in any matter, summon the parties or one of them to appear personally.
Personal appearance may only be ordered by the trial panel or by the member of that panel who is responsible for investigating the case. .
When the personal appearance is ordered by a panel, the panel may decide that it will take place before one of its members. When it is ordered by the judge in charge of the investigation, the latter may carry it out himself or decide that the appearance will take place before the trial panel.
The judge, in making the order, shall fix the place, day and time of the personal appearance, unless it is made forthwith.
The personal appearance may always take place in chambers.
The parties shall be questioned in each other’s presence unless circumstances require them to be questioned separately. They must be confronted if one of the parties so requests. Where the appearance of only one of the parties has been ordered, that party shall be questioned in the presence of the other unless the circumstances require that it be questioned immediately or out of his presence, subject to the right of…
The parties may be questioned in the presence of a technician and confronted with witnesses.
The parties answer the questions put to them in person without being able to read any drafts.
The personal appearance shall take place in the presence of the defenders of all the parties or those called.
The judge shall, if he considers it necessary, ask the questions submitted to him by the parties after the examination.
