Paragraph 1: General provisions.

The Public Prosecutor shall terminate the enforcement of the financial penalty as soon as he is informed by the competent authority of the issuing State of any measure or decision which has the effect either of depriving the financial penalty of its enforceability or of removing its enforcement from the French authorities. .

Unless an agreement between France and the issuing State stipulates otherwise, sums recovered pursuant to this section shall be charged to the budget of the French State. The public prosecutor shall inform the competent authority of the issuing State by any means that leaves a written record of the enforcement of the financial penalty or of its total or partial non-enforcement, specifying the reasons for the non-enforcement of the penalty.
